USA – Nova Iorque – Account Manager / Digital

Reporting to the Director, Digital Sales Operations, the primary focus of this position is to provide media planning for and manage campaigns sold within USA TODAY Sports Group.

This position is responsible for maintaining existing accounts, building customer relationships, identifying and selling new accounts, ensuring account compliance to national agreement guidelines, ensuring accuracy of rates, sustaining excellent customer service.

Candidate will professionally, effectively and accurately represent USA TODAY Sports in the marketplace; will support sales team in meeting annual revenue goals; be able to develop a network of contacts to identify client needs and deliver effective proposals and develop sales opportunities; will utilize strong negotiation skills internally and externally to develop strong positioning, pricing, premiums, sponsorships, etc.

The Account Manager will deliver multiplatform sales solutions as directed by their manager.  This person will provide daily input of all account activity, opportunities, etc. as well as assist the Vice President and Account Executive(s) with reporting, communication, and problem solving.

The Account Manager will be called upon to help develop sponsorship wrap-up reports working towards program renewal and upsell, as well as contribute to the creation of other major sponsorship programs as part of the sales process.

The Account Manager must have strong communication and relationship building skills as they will be responsible for direct client communication via conference calls, in person, and written status reports.

It will be important for this person to have a strong understanding of multi media and sports sponsorships.  An understanding of the digital space is critical.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree with a concentration in marketing/advertising a plus.
  • 4+ years experience supporting multimedia advertising programs.
  • Strategic and creative thinker who can build advertising opportunities that optimize the USA TODAY Sports Media Group assets.
  • Technologically savvy, self motivated.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of sales analytics; experience working with research teams and interfaces to develop effective customer messaging.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and manage concurrent deadlines.
  • Highly collaborative style; be able to foster team work.
  • Ability to enhance customer satisfaction, manage client expectations and communicate effectively.
  • High energy, maturity, and leadership.
  • Demonstrate solid business ethics and integrity.
  • Sports experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
